Research projects
Active and ongoing research initiatives spanning geocoded education data, deep learning for migration modeling, and GeoAI methods for socioeconomic outcomes.
A geocoded school database covering 23+ low- and middle-income countries, integrating Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) data with satellite-derived covariates. GEO supports research on educational equity, resource allocation, and learning outcomes across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Developed in collaboration with regional partners through the GEDEx Spencer Foundation RPP.
Modeling international migration flows using deep learning to identify and quantify push and pull factors across origin-destination country pairs. The project leverages large-scale socioeconomic, environmental, and conflict datasets to understand the drivers of cross-border movement — with implications for humanitarian response and migration policy.
Details will appear here as the project develops.
